Bruce Allmty Wins $50,000 KOFX Radio Handicap

Bruce Allmty won Saturday's Grade 3 KOFX Radio Handicap at Sunland Park.

Adrian J. Cano's Bruce Allmty led at every call en route to a clear 1 1/4-length victory in Saturday's Grade 3, $50,000 KOFX Radio Handicap at Sunland Park.

Ridden by Roberto Meraz Jr. for trainer Fernando Carrete, Bruce Allmty went 350 yards in :17.124 while racing against a reported 4-mph head wind. The 4-year-old Ivory James gelding earned a 102 speed index and banked $30,000 for his sixth win in 15 starts and first stakes score.

Bruce Allmty was bred in Arkansas by Jailbait Inc. The gelding has won his last three races and five of his last six outs, including a pair of allowance races during the summer meet at Albuquerque Downs.

Bruce Allmty's career resume includes an eighth-place finish in the 2016 Rocky Mountain Futurity at Arapahoe Park near Denver. He was sent to post as the 5-2 second choice and returned a $7.40 win mutuel in the KOFX Radio Handicap.
