Special Royal Corona Gelding Tops TQHA Sale Futurity Qualifiers

Coronas On The Coast set the fastest qualifying time from 11 trials at Retama Park.

Eleven TQHA Sale Futurity trials were contested on Friday at Retama Park.

A & E Stables' Coronas On The Coast, a gelded son of the Corona Cartel stallion Special Royal Corona, on Friday set the fastest qualifying time to the July 28, $479,169 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG3).

Racing in the seventh of 11 trials at Retama Park, Coronas On The Coast defeated sixth-fastest qualifier Woulda by one length in :17.799 for 350 yards. Everardo Rodriguez rode the gelding for trainer Miguel Rodriguez.

Coronas On The Coast was bred in Texas by Omar Mireles. An earner of $14,854 from four outs, he is out of Coasting Rabbit, a winning and stakes-placed daughter of Yawls Rabbit.
