Favored Uptown Dynasty Wins $100,000 Corona Cartel Stakes

Melvin Neugebauer's Uptown Dynasty led at every call en route to a half-length victory in Saturday's 440-yard, $100,000 Corona Cartel Stakes for 3-year-olds at Ruidoso Downs.

Sent to post as the 4-5 favorite in the field of nine, Uptown Dynasty made his quarter-mile trip in :21.497 under jockey G.R. Carter Jr. Wes Giles saddled the bay son of champion Mr Jess Perry.

Uptown Dynasty was bred in Oklahoma by Sam W. Green. A resident of Manzanola, Colorado, Neugebauer aqcuired the gelding for $65,000 at the 2016 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Raced primarily at Ruidoso Downs, Uptown Dynasty has won seven of 11 outs, and the $42,967 winner's share of the purse from his second stakes win pushed his earnings to $721,103, of which $607,800 was banked during a 2-year-old campaign in which he won the Ruidoso Futurity (G1) and ran second in the Rainbow Futurity (G1) and sixth in the All American Futurity (G1).

Wagon Chick V finished second and was followed by Mister Moody Blue, Splendid Cause, Intense Fire, Hierarchy, First Be Graceful, Fly Baby Fly, and VF Zeus.
