Sergio Becerra Jr. rode Rustys Miracle to the fillly's first stakes victory in the $100,000 Rainbow Juvenile Stakes at Ruidoso Downs on Sunday.
Trained by Fred Danley for owner J & SM Inc. of Fort Stockton, Texas, Rustys Miracle went 400 yards in :19.692 while aided by a reported 12-mph tail wind. The Valiant Hero filly's winning margin was a half of a length from Symbol Of Faith, and she earned $42,967 from her fourth win in six outs.
Rustys Miracle was bred in Texas by Bob and Jerry Gaston, and she was a $61,000 buy at last year's Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The filly is a full sister to Valiant Lil Lady, the winner of the 2012 Texas Classic Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park, and she is a half sister to '13 Retama Park Derby (G3) winner Bubba Carver.
Rustys Miracle's dam, Rustys Lil Lady, is an unraced 11-year-old daughter of champion Fredricksburg. The filly has earned $63,834 while competing exclusively in New Mexico.
Eagles First, First Silk Dash V, Far Right, Kamila, Easy Politician, Flying Eagle 07, and Tempting Stone completed the official order of finish.
