Making the third start of her 4-year-old campaign, Paragon Farms LLC's Apollitical Scout sprinted to a neck victory in Saturday's 400-yard, $103,300 Junos Request Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares at Remington Park.

Apollitical Scout earned a 105 speed index, as the sorrel daughter of Apollitical Jess tripped the timer in :19.202 while aided by a reported 12-mph tail wind. Rodrigo Vallejo rode Apollitical Scout for trainer Jimmy Padgett.

Apollitical Scout was stepping up in class off of her second-place finish, a head behind winner As And Js, in the 350-yard, $80,000 Easy Date Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-bred distaffers on April 28. Apollitical Scout was bred by Dan and Louise Jones, and the Junos Request -- named to honor the sport's champion aged are in 1992 -- marked her second graded stakes win.

All told, Apollitical Scout has won five of 16 starts, including last year's Remington Park Derby (RG3) for Oklahoma-bred sophomores, and the 2016 Ruidoso Juvenile Stakes at Ruidoso Downs. The $63,030 winner's share of the Junos Request purse bumped her bankroll to $332,760, of which $185,624 was earned during her 3-year-old season.

Hardtoget ran second and was followed by One Sweet Racy, Dashnunder Afullmoon, As And Js, Mojo Perry, Hr Chatter Wagon, JC Wild Rose, VF Wheely Cute, and Mamasito Magic.
