Desirio Filly Tops Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity Qualifiers

A $10,000 claimer at Remington Park, Mildred Didrickson was the fastest qualifier from five Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity trials.

Milena Kwiecien's Mildred Didrickson, a brown daughter of the Strawfly Special stallion Desirio, is the fastest qualifier to the July 7, $165,000-est. Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity at Canterbury Park.

Ridden by Nakia Ramirez for trainer Jason Pascoe, Mildred Didrickson on Saturday won the second of five 350-yard trials by 1 1/2 lengths in :17.782. The Oklahoma-bred filly was scoring her second win in four outs and increasing her earnings to $16,015.

Mildred Didrickson was bred by Nancy Yearsley and J. Garvan Kelly. The filly was making her first start since April 22, when she scored a one-length victory in a 250-yard dash for state-bred $10,000 maiden claimers at Remington Park.
