Sent to post as the even-money choice, Adrian J. Cano's Bruce Allmty responded with a neck victory in Friday's $51,100 Eastex Stakes (G2) at Remington Park.

Bruce Allmty covered 350 yards in :17.336 while extending his winning streak to four. Roberto Meraz Jr. rode the 4-year-old Ivory James gelding for trainer Fernando Carrete.

"This little horse has been good for me," Meraz said. "He got bumped around a little bit, but this horse has heart. He just wants to beat everyone to the other side of the finish line."

Bruce Allmty was bred in Arkansas by Jailbait Inc. The gelding shipped in from New Mexico, where he scored a clear 1 1/2-length victory in the 350-yard, $50,000 KOFX Radio Handicap (G3) at Sunland Park on January 27. All told, he has won seven of 16 starts, and the $29,786 winner's share of the Eastex purse pushed his earnings to $131,942.

Bruce Allmty returned a $4 win mutuel and teamed with runner-up Tough To Bee, the 2-1 second choice, for a $2 exacta return of $11.20. Dauns First Desirio, the 5-1 third choice, ran third to complete a $15.30 ($1) trifecta.

Jimmy Eagle, Capshaw Capo, Bye Byefreighttrain, Born To B Bad, Double Down, and Flyin Eagle completed the order of finish.
