Wootan Racing’s Senator Ryno raced 300 yards in :16.000 in the last of 14 training races, setting the day's fastest time on Monday at Ruidoso Downs.

The horses with the top three times were all prepped by Mike Joiner and ridden by Felipe Garcia-Luna. Click here for a complete list of times.

Senator Ryno, a gelded son of Louisiana Senator, broke sharply from post 2 and then held off a strong challenge from Sumokeonthewater, who came through with the day’s fourth-fastest time of :16.035.

Flash And Roll, a First Moonflash gelding trained by Joiner for owner Scott Bryant, posted the day's second-fastest winning time. A $200,000 buy at last year's Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, Flash And Roll won his schooling race by more than three lengths in :16.019.

Joiner also sent out Wallis Johnson’s Shes Got Fire, a filly by Corona Cartel, to win the fourth schooling race in :16.029, the day's third-fastest winning time.

Ruidoso Futurity on May 25-26, the first two days of the summer season at Ruidoso Downs.
