Fdd Dynasty Gelding Records Fastest Training Race Time at Ruidoso

Midday News tops the clockings for Wednesday and the week.

Ruidoso Downs concluded its pre-season training-race activity on Wednesday. The track's 47-day season opens May 25.

The fastest times from three days of 300-yard training races at Ruidoso Downs came during Wednesday's action, when seven horses turned in times under 16 seconds.

Midday News Partners’ Midday News raced 300 yards in :15.850 to post the top time from the three days of schooling races. A gelded son of champion Fdd Dynasty trained by Mike Joiner and ridden by Felipe Garcia-Luna, Midday News was a $28,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale purchase, and he defeated Fireball Flash, a daughter of champion First Moonflash owned by Ramon Alvarez and Dan Delaney, who stopped the timer in :15.868, the second-fastest training race time of the week. Mauro Salcedo rode Fireball Flash for trainer Seth Ferguson.

The third-fastest time for Wednesday and the three schooling race days was recorded by Bobby Simmons’ The Runaway Favorite. A son of Favorite Cartel trained by Blane Wood, The Runaway Favorite won his training race in :15.902 under jockey Ricky Ramirez.

The other horses to record times under 16 seconds on Wednesday were Excessive Gambler (:15.944), Cd Rowdy James (:15.946), My Mystery Lover (:15.966) and Ace Of Spades Senator (:15.984).
