Aqua Flash Leads Day One of Heritage Place Futurity Trials

The First Moonflash filly posts the fastest qualifying time from 11 heats on Friday.

Aqua Flash on Friday posted the fastest qualifying time on the first night of trials for the June 2, $1,024,840 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) trials at Remington Park.

Ridden by Tanner Thedford for owner Thomas Scheckel of Bellevue, Iowa, Aqua Flash won the fifth of11 350-yard trials by 1 3/4 lengths in :17.582. Shawna Manriquez prepped the gray daughter of champion First Moonflash, who was recording her second win in as many starts.

Aqua Flash was bred in Utah by McColee Land and Livestock LLC. An $8,700 buy at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the filly is out of Aquafina, a winning and graded stakes placed daughter of First Down Dash and the Runaway Winner mare Runaway Wave.
