Jess Hawk Wins Grade 3 Miss Princess Handicap

The homebred mare gives EG High Desert Farms its record fourth win in the Los Alamitos stakes.

Cruz Mendez rode Jess Hawk to a half-length victory in Sunday's Grade 3, $50,000 Miss Princess Handicap for fillies and mares at Los Alamitos.

Prepped by Jesus Nunez for owner Enrique Gonzalez's EG High Desert Farms, Jess Hawk went 350 yards in :17.449. The 4-year-old One Sweet Jess mare gave her owner its stakes-recordd fourth Miss Princess win.

Jess Hawk was coming off of a second-place finish, a nose behind winner Strawfinders Jessee, in the 350-yard, $18,000 Mini Rock Handicap for distaffers on April 7. Raced exclusively at Los Alamitos, she has won six of 16 starts and has banked $135,213, and her race record includes a third-place run, a neck behind winner BH Lisas Boy, in the February 11, 400-yard Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1).

Designs By Dynasty finished second and was followed by Tough To Figure, Jess Mas, Zendaya, Still Friends, Imaqtpie, and Strawfinders Jessee.
