Anasttasia is Prompt Favorite in $150,565 Iowa Double Gold Futurity

The homebred filly gets her first stakes win on Saturday.

Jorge Haddad's Anasttasia won Saturday's Iowa Double Gold Futurity.

Jorge Haddad's Anasttasia, a homebred bay daughter of The Louisiana Cartel and the 7-5 favorite, earned her first stakes victory in Saturday's $150,565 Iowa Double Gold Futurity (R) at Prairie Meadows.

Ridden by Bonifacio Quiroz, Anasttasia covered 350 yards in :17.671, and her winning margin was a neck from Choochoowannaboogie. Clint Crawford prepped the filly, who banked $67,754 from her second win in six races.

Anasttasia was bred in Texas, and she began her career in her home state. Her race record includes an eighth-place finish in the July 28, 350-yard TQHA Sale Futurity (RG3) at Retama Park near San Antonio.

Anasttasia is out of Las Alamitos, a winning and multiple graded stakes placed daughter of all-time leading sire and 1987 world champion First Down Dash. Her second dam, the winning Easy Jet mare Easy Henryetta, ran third in the '87 QHBC Freshman Classic Stakes (G3) at Los Alamitos.
