Ryansmanonthemoon outran his 8-1 odds with a neck victory in Saturday's $211,142 Shue Fly Stakes (RG2) for New Mexico-bred 3-year-olds at Sunland Park.

Ridden by Mauro Salcedo, Ryansmanonthemoon covered 400 yards in :19.309 and returned an $18.40 win mutuel. Cynthia Gonzalez prepped the homebred bay son of champion First Moonflash for owners Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vasquez.

Ryansmanonthemoon was coming off of a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Freedom Flash, in his Shue Fly trial on January 4. The gelding is out of Girlonthego, a 7-year-old daughter of Man On The Move and winner of the 2014 Zia Futurity (RG1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Ryansmanonthemoon has won three of 11 starts, and the $99,237 winner's share of the purse from his first stakes win pushed his bankroll to $142,917.

Woodys Copy Cat, Saul, Freedom Flash, Igotmybiggirljeanson, Vintage Vaquera, fastest qualifier Hs Paul Walker, Cd Flash And Fame, and El Red completed the official order of finish.
