Miguel Sanguino’s Chicks Special Angel looks for her fourth-straight win when she brings top-qualifying honors into the $60,000 Bank of America Emerald Championship Challenge on Sunday at Emerald Downs in Seattle.

Chicks Special Angel (Chickspecialmongoose-CFF Plain Jane by Super Bowl Dash) won the first of two trials as the 3-5 favorite with a :21.846 mark for the 440 yards. The Juan Sanguino-trained mare started her winning streak with a win in her trial to Merial Sun Downs Distaff Challenge. She then took the Merial Sun Downs Distaff Challenge by 2 1/4 lengths as the odds-on favorite.

The veteran mare has won 14 of 21 starts while racing primarily in the Northwest.

The Eloy Mendoza-owned and -trained Ambush Alley (Snowbound (TB)-Fames Easy by Dash Ta Fame) won the other trial by three quarters of a length with the third-fastest time of :22.044. In his two previous starts, he had a win in a Los Alamitos allowance race and a second-place run in an allowance race at The Downs at Albuquerque.

John Olmos’ Alota Action (Quick Action (TB)-Alota Traffic by Dash Thru Traffic) has finished second behind Chicks Special in her latest two efforts. She was second in the Merial Sun Downs Distaff Challenge and then was defeated by a half length in their Bank of America Emerald Downs Championship Challenge trial.
