Bet On Ballou Back at Sunland
Veteran Bet On Ballou returns at Sunland for the KOFX-Radio Handicap.

Bet On Ballou (Sum Fun To Bet-Ballou Thirty Two by Strait To The Bank) is thriving with six wins from nine starts last year. He also banked $211,980 of his career earnings of $308,685 last year.
The Wes Giles-trained gelding won the $85,000 Mesilla Valley Speed Handicap (RG2) over the Sunland Park strip and then went to SunRay Park to win the $65,000 Jim Drake Stakes. Two starts ago, he dominated a $44,500 Zia Park allowance race by 1 3/4 lengths as the even-money choice. He was timed in a fast :17.377 for the 350 yards.
Maegan Cavasos and Lindsay Gonzalez’s Dashes Best (Dash Ta Fame-Rammers Best (TB) by White Rammer) returns to the stakes division in search of his first stakes win after winning a pair of allowance races. He battled to a nose win at Zia Park at 220 yards and then scored by a neck at 350 yards at Sunland Park. He was timed in :17.434 for the win in the $39,710 allowance race at Sunland Park.
Heysol Howlet and Julieta Torres’ TF Featured Effort (Feature Mr Jess-Meadow Creeks Effort by Special Effort) has been on the board in seven of nine starts at Sunland Park with four wins.
TF Featured Effort boasts the stakes class to prove best against this field. The winner of the 2012 $165,935 West Texas Derby (G3), he won the $95,423 West Texas Maturity (G2) back in March, then returned in November for a third-place run in the $62,620 Lovington Stakes (G2) and finished fifth in the $150,480 Zia Park Championship (G1).
