Conda Maze and Tyler Graham’s Heritage Place Futurity (G1) winner Lovethewayyoulie looks for another stakes win in the $64,620 John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge (G3) on Saturday at Ruidoso Downs.

Lovethewayyoulie (Tempting Dash-Witches Streak by Streakin Sixes) is the fourth-ranked juvenile in the weekly AQHA Poll and will be attempting to rebound from a second-place trial finish with the eighth-fastest qualifying time of :17.557.

The Toby Keeton-trained filly was second in the $50,000 Sam Houston Juvenile and then went to Remington Park to earn her national ranking. The gutty filly went to the lead in the $1,021,000 Heritage Place Futurity and held on to win the 350-yard test by a nose.

Bobby Cox’s homebred Apolitical Pac (Apolitical Jess-Kpax by First Down Dash) also came to Ruidoso Downs after a promising spring at Remington Park. The gray filly finished fourth in the $370,800 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) and then crossed the finish line in sixth position in the Heritage Place Futurity, but was disqualified and placed ninth.

The Heritage Place Futurity was in May and she was made her Ruidoso Downs debut in the John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge trial on July 18. The John Buchanan-trained filly impressed in the first of seven trials when she won by one length while under a firm hold. Her time of :17.388 held up as the afternoon’s fastest time.

Jose Luis Ozuna’s Moonstruck Love (First Moonflash-Authorized Love by Dooley Authorized) came off a last-place finish in the $340,699 Mountain Top Futurity (RG3) for New Mexico-breds to step up with a three-quarter-length John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge trial win. He scored the second-fastest qualifying mark of :17.398.

Moonstruck Love, trained by Paul Jones, also won his Mountain Top Futurity trial for his other victory from four starts.
