A Priceless Gal Tops Adequan Arapahoe Derby Trials
Remington shipper posts top time in Arapahoe Park trials.

Coming off a race in which she faced older horses in the Merial Remington Distaff Challenge on May 11, A Priceless Gal bounced back to win the first of two trials Saturday for the Adequan Arapahoe Derby Challenge at Arapahoe Park. The Feature Mr Jess mare posted the top qualifying mark of :19.976 for 400 yards.
The 10 fastest Bank of America Racing Challenge-enrolled 3-year-olds will return to Arapahoe Park on Saturday, June 7, and vie for the winner's share of a $27,000-added purse. Also at stake is an invite to the $200,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G1) on October 18 at Prairie Meadows.
Racing for Sam W. Green, A Priceless Gal got her third career win in 10 starts while pushing her earnings mark to just over $30,000. John D. Hammes saddled the Texas-bred filly from the Corona Cartel mare A Southern Gal. Vince Guerra rode the bay miss bred by Southern Run Quarter Horses.
Coming off a maiden win at Remington Park on April 3, Wicked Valentine veered out at the start but recovered to finish a neck off A Priceless Gal while recording the second fastest time of :20.018. The One Famous Eagle filly is an Oklahoma homebred for Brad and Ann Tate. Charley Hunt conditions the two-time futurity finalist who has earned $40,529. Stormy Smith was aboard the filly from the First Down Dash mare Only The Wicked.
Making the first start this season, Harrisburg won the second trial and got the third fastest clocking of :20.043. Jorge Miranda trains the Azoom colt for Junior's Quarter Horses Inc. Bred in Kentucky by Robert Gentry from the Dash For Cash mare Fearless Freda, Harrisburg has won two of five starts. Ramiro Garcia had the riding call.
