Illthinkaboutit Wins Bonus Challenge at Lethbridge

California-bred records her second straight win at the Canadian track.

Picking up her second consecutive win of the meet, Illthinkaboutit got up at the wire over Im Hott Ur Nott Sunday afternoon in the $14,731(US) Rocky Mountain Turf Club Bonus Challenge at Lethbridge. The race is part of the Bonus Challenge presented by Markel for Bank of America Racing Challenge-enrolled horses.

Ruben Saenz hustled Illthinkaboutit to a neck win while completing the 300 yards in :15.750, a 92 speed index. The $7,807 winner's purse pushed the Carters Cartel filly's earnings mark to $26,658. Owned and trained by Dean Frey, the California-bred picked up an allowance win at the Canadian track last weekend. The 4-year-old mare was bred by the Darrell Frey Estate. The daughter of the Band Of Azure mare Petite Azure finished second in the John Deere Evergreen Juvenile Challenge in 2012.

Im Hott Ur Nott, making her 2014 debut in Sunday's Bonus Challenge, was also bred by Dean Frey. The Tres Seis 4-year-old races for owner Ralph Denard and is conditioned by Laurie Ferguson. Tyler Walker rode the stakes-placed filly out of the First Down Dash mare Wild California Rose. Im Hott Ur Nott earned $3,830 for the effort.

Northforkzoom and Tres Seis Smooches finished a head back in a dead heat for third. The pair earned $1,768 each.

William Leech saddled Northforkzoom for owners Glenn Willis and Tom Copithorne. Dwight Lewis rode the Mezoomn homebred out of RJ Bitterroot Babe by El Mistral.

The 5-year-old Tres Seis Smooches is owned and trained by Angelle Carter. Trevor Simpson rode the Tres Seis mare out of Heza Sovereign Dash, by Royal Sovereign.

Poutn With Speed, Dazzling TR, Top Gun B and Tiny Flying Corona complete the official order of finish.
