Foose Cash Sr scored a game victory in Saturday’s $920,100 Los Alamitos Super Derby (G1) to extend his win streak to five. The race was originally scheduled for November 1 but was delayed twice. Prior to the race, Los Alamitos released the following statement: “Saturday's Los Alamitos Super Derby is being presented as an exhibition race without pari-mutuel betting because track management is concerned by inconsistent performances by some of the qualifiers. Sophisticated post race testing has not been completely evaluated. Further information will be released at a later time.”

Ridden by Eduardo Nicasio for owner World Champion Racing Stables LLC, Lapresita LLC et al., Foose Cash Sr prevailed by a nose in a time of :19.682 for 400 yards. The gelding by Foose, who was bred in California by Anselmo Aguilar, picked up his second Grade 1 victory after taking last year’s Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity. His record now stands at 10-6-1-1 with earnings of $1,212,112.

Foose Cash Sr led a top three sweep for trainer Eloy Navarro, who had eight of the 10 finalists. Alberto Valdes’ Highest Fire took second under jockey Joe Badilla Jr., and Gildardo Garcia’s Dare To Flair crossed the wire third with Rodolfo Arvizu in the saddle.
