It took Patriots Toast 28 starts before she recorded her first stakes victory in the Audubon Stakes (R) at Fair Grounds in August, and then in her next outing she picked up another stakes win in the $30,000 Billy Montgomery Stakes (RG3) for Louisiana-bred fillies and mares on Saturday at Evangeline Downs.

Ridden by Raul Ramirez Jr. and trained by Martin Trejo, Patriots Toast prevailed by a half-length in the Billy Montgomery with a 350-yard clocking in :17.355. The 3-10 favorite earned $18,000 for owner Ana Alvidrez and now has a lifetime record of 29-11-6-4 with earnings of $194,242. The 5-year-old daughter of Game Patriot was bred by Dr. Tommy Hays.

The Game Cartel, also by Game Patriot, closed to take second with MCM Fast Dashin Blue, by Jess Louisiana Blue, in third.
