Champion Significant Heart Returns in Las Damas
The 5-year-old mare will tote 125 pounds in Saturday's 400-yard, $25,000 stakes for distaffers.

Significant Heart, a 5-year-old daughter of Corona Cartel racing for Abigail K. Kawananakoa, is one of seven distaffers entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $25,000 Las Damas Handicap at Los Alamitos.
Trained by Paul Jones, Significant Heart has been assigned by racing secretary Ron Church to carry top weight of 125 pounds. The mare has earned $17,025 from three outs this year, and her season record includes third-place finishes in the Mildred N. Vessels Memorial (G1) and Charger Bar (G2) handicaps.
Significant Heart has won eight of 22 starts and has banked $257,292. The mare drew post 5 and will be ridden by Eduardo Nicasio.
Nancy Scane’s Skinny Jeans drew post 3 and will be ridden by Oscar Peinado for trainer Patricia Visscher. A homebred graded stakes placed 3-year-old filly by champion Foose, Skinny Jeans will be stretching out in distance off of her victory in the 330-yard, $16,000 Luva Secret Handicap for sophomore fillies.
Other contenders include Blabber, a stakes-winning 3-year-old daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Kiddy Up racing for Ed Allred from the barn of trainer Scott Willoughby. Blabber has won four of eight starts and has earned $40,925, of which $37,295 has been banked this season.
Carlos Huerta will ride Blabber from post 4.
