Air Force Won Risks Win Streak in Arapahoe's Mile High Derby

The Ketel Won gelding draws post 2 for Saturday's 400-yard stakes.

Air Force Won, a sorrel son of champion Ketel Won racing for Vences Quarter Horse, will put his four-race win streak on the line in Saturday’s 400-yard, $100,000-added Mile High Derby at Arapahoe Park.

Air Force Won has won all four of his outs during the current Arapahoe meet, including the June 4, 400-yard Adequan Arapahoe Derby Challenge, and the July 9, 350-yard Rocky Mountain Derby. The gelding drew post 2 and will be ridden by Ramiro Garcia for trainer Uriel Delgado.

Other contenders include David J. Sanchez’s Bookish, a gelded son of Walk Thru Fire trained by Jose Antonio Moreno and a finalist in last year’s 350-yard, $385,000 PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity (G2) at Los Alamitos. Bookish drew post 9 and will be ridden by Rodolfo Arvizu.
