Beach Cartel Risks Win Streak in Bob Woodward Memorial

Sheri Miller’s Beach Cartel, a homebred 4-year-old gelding, will put his six-race winning streak on the line in Saturday’s 400-yard, $90,600 Bob Woodward Memorial Classic Stakes (R) at Indiana Grand.

Trained by Randy Smith, the meet’s leading Quarter Horse trainer, Beach Cartel has won all four of his outs this season, including the May 28, 400-yard Born Runner Stakes (R) at Indiana Grand. The son of Escondido Beach drew post 5 and will be ridden by Berkley Packer.

Who Jack, a gelded son of Jumpn trained by Ricardo Martinez for owner Eulice Pujol, is one of 10 sophomores entered back in Saturday’s 400-yard, $71,954 QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Derby (R).

Who Jack has banked $47,132 from five outs this season, and his two wins include a neck victory as the 13-10 favorite in the January 17, 350-yard Florida QHRA Derby (R) at Hialeah Park. The gelding drew post 8 and will be ridden by Osdany Leal.

Carolyn Bruce’s Cb Come Fly With Me, a homebred stakes-placed daughter of Desirio, drew post 8 for Saturday’s 350-yard, $192,739 QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Futurity (R).

Raced exclusively at Indiana Grand, Cb Come Fly With Me has won two of four starts and has earned $32,270, and her resume includes a second-place finish in the 300-yard, $131,000 Jaguar Rocket Stakes (R) for state-bred juveniles on June 18.

Cb Come Fly With Me will be ridden by Rolando Pina for trainer Joe Davis.
