Shes A Tourist Returns in $200,000 Sunshine State Derby Final

The fastest qualifier drew post 9 for Saturday's stakes at Hialeah Park.

Double A Ranch’s Shes A Tourist is one of 10 3-year-olds entered back in Saturday’s 400-yard, $200,000 Sunshine State Derby at Hialeah Park.

A sorrel daughter of Ethics Aside trained by Elio Vazquez, Shes A Tourist was placed first in the first of three trials on February 5. The filly has won two of four starts and has earned $17,283.

Shes A Tourist drew post 9 and will be ridden by Yordanis Amaro.

Chris Watson’s Burnin For You, a stakes winner in Oklahoma last season, will be ridden by Francisco Ramirez Jr. from post 4. A sorrel filly by This Flights For You trained by Donnie Strickland, Burnin For You won last year’s 350-yard, $15,000 Fair Meadows Juvenile Stakes.

Also on Saturday, Woop Dee Doo, a son of champion Good Reason SA trained by Sergio Concepcion for owner Ricardo Martinez, drew post 5 for Saturday’s 440-yard, $25,000 South Florida Stakes.

Woop Dee Doo has banked $91,539 from eight outs, and his three wins include a convincing 2 3/4-length victory in last year’s 300-yard, $82,000 Heartland Futurity at Indiana Grand. The sorrel gelding will be ridden by Cristian Esqueda on Saturday.
