City of Hialeah Stakes Draws 9

Jessies First Down seeks second stakes win on Sunday.

Jessies First Down is one of nine aged runners entered in Sunday's City of Hialeah Stakes.

Ted G. Abrams’ Jessies First Down, a stakes winning and graded stakes placed 5-year-old son of champion FDD Dynasty, drew post 5 for Sunday’s 400-yard, $25,000 City of Hialeah Stakes at Hialeah Park.

A homebred, Jessies First Down is trained by Judd Kearl. The gelding prepped for this race with a wire-to-wire, 1 1/2-length victory in a 440-yard, $17,500 non-winners-of-three allowance at Hialeah on January 3.

The gelding will be ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo on Sunday.
