Hialeah Presents Stakes Tripleheader on Sunday

Recent stakes winner She Looks Racy returns in Biscayne Stakes.

JMF Shazoomer, a stakes winner at the 550-yard distance earlier during the meet, drew post 8 for Sunday’s 660-yard, $25,000 Moonstone Stakes at Hialeah Park.

JMF Shazoomer is a 4-year-old son of Shazoom racing for Elite Oilfield Services Inc. from the barn of trainer Yoani Abreu. The gelding is coming off of a neck victory at odds of 11-1 in the 550-yard, $25,000 Orange Blossom Stakes on December 27.

Francisco Ramirez Jr. will ride JMF Shazoomer as the gelding makes his first start at this extended distance in the Moonstone.

Tallahassee Stakes
M and G Farms Inc.’s El Macho Prieto Boy, a 5-year-old son of Hard Hitting trained by Jesus Garrido, is one of 10 sprinters entered in Sunday’s 220-yard, $20,000 Tallahassee Stakes.

El Macho Prieto Boy began his Hialeah campaign with a victory in the 110-yard, $20,000 Speedball Stakes on December 28. The bay stallion drew the rail post and will be ridden by Gerardo Garrido.

Llano Cartel, the runner-up in the Speedball, drew post 4 and will be ridden by Raul Gutierrez for owner Wade A. Helton and trainer Fernando Carrete. An earner of $394,191 from 42 lifetime outs, the 6-year-old Teller Cartel gelding is coming off of a neck victory in an open-condition 250-yard, $20,000 allowance on January 10.

Biscayne Stakes
A full field of 10 sophomores, headed by recent stakes winner She Looks Racy, has been entered in Sunday’s 250-yard, $25,000 Biscayne Stakes.

She Looks Racy is trained by Elio Vazquez for owner Double A Ranch. A sorrel daughter of all-time leading sire First Down Dash, the filly was a prompt 2-5 favorite in the 250-yard, $20,000 Mockingbird Stakes on January 3.

She Looks Racy drew post 8 and will be ridden by Yordanis Amaro.

Jaime Flores’ Shez A Hot Valentine will also make her next start in the Biscayne. A gray Walk Thru Fire filly trained by Yoani Abreu and the fastest qualifier to the January 17, $390,395 Hialeah Derby, Shez A Hot Valentine was scratched by the stewards when she broke through the gate prior to the start.
