Ardor, Hez Gone Return in Retama’s TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity Trials

Seven 350-yard heats will be contested on Friday.

A total of 61 juveniles has been entered in Friday's TQHA Sires' Cup Futurity trials at Retama Park.

Ardor, a graded stakes placed Ivory James gelding owned by Double H Racing Investments LLC, is one of 61 2-year-olds entered in Friday’s 350-yard Texas Quarter Horse Association Sires’ Cup Futurity (RG3) trials at Retama Park.

Trained by Adrian Huitron, Ardor will be making his first start since March 23, when he ran third, one length behind winner and eventual Grade 1 winner Duponte, in the 300-yard, $268,000 Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs.

Ardor will be ridden by Luis Vivanco from post 5 in the second of seven trials.

Hez Gone, a son of Gone To The Mountain owned and trained by Jose R. Espinosa, will be ridden by Cipriano Vidana from post 5 in the third heat. The gelding has earned $34,200 from two outs, and he is coming off of a fifth-place finish in the 330-yard, $540,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2) at Sam Houston Race Park.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity final.
