Running Dragon, a gray filly racing for the By By JJ Limited Partnership, will risk her undefeated record in Saturday’s 350-yard, $364,256 Mountain Top Futurity (RG3) at Ruidoso Downs.

Trained by Juan M. Gonzalez, Running Dragon set the fastest qualifying time with her clear 1 1/4-length victory in the last of 10 trials on June 3. The homebred filly has won all three of her outs, including the April 24, 300-yard New Mexican Spring Futurity (RG2) at Sunland Park, and she has earned $147,780.

Running Dragon drew the rail post and will be ridden by Jose Enrique Ortiz.

Second-fastest qualifier Copy My Daddy is one of four finalists from the barn of trainer Blane Wood. A gelded son of Big Daddy Cartel racing for Terry and Irene Stennett and a $26,000 buy at last year’s New Mexico-Bred Yearling Sale, Copy My Daddy made his debut with a 1 1/2-length win as the 3-2 favorite in the third trial.

Copy My Daddy drew post 10 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

Other Mountain Top contenders include Nahum Prieto’s Cowgirlsalady, a homebred Zulu Dragon filly trained by Gonzalez. Cowgirlsalady has earned $16,281 from three starts, and she was a finalist in the New Mexican Spring Futurity.

Cowgirlsalady drew post 7 and will be ridden by Adrian Ramos.

Big Spurs, a graded stakes placed Big Daddy Cartel colt trained by Ron Stephens for Astorga Racing LLC, will be ridden by Ivan Carnero from post 5. Big Spurs has won two of his three outs and has banked $61,381, and her resume includes a second-place finish, a half of a length behind Running Dragon, in the New Mexican Spring Futurity.
