Remington's SLM Big Daddy Stakes Draws Full Field of 10

Mixed Fantasy draws rail post for Saturday's 550-yard stakes.

A full field of 10 will enter Remington Park's starting gate for Saturday's 550-yard SLM Big Daddy Stakes.

JK Running Horses LLC’s Mixed Fantasy, a two-time winner at the distance, drew the rail post for Saturday’s 550-yard, $50,000 SLM Big Daddy Stakes at Remington Park.

A gray 6-year-old Okey Dokey Fantasy gelding trained by Kenny Laymon, Mixed Fantasy is the lone multiple 550-yard winner in the 10-horse field. He is coming off of a third-place finish, a neck behind winner JMF Shazoomer, in the 550-yard, $25,000 Orange Blossom Stakes at Hialeah Park on December 27.

Daniel Torres will ride Mixed Fantasy in the SLM Big Daddy. The gelding’s nine opponents include Oscar Moreno’s Dashin For A Prize, a 5-year-old son of Heza Fast Dash who will be making his first start at this distance. The gelding is coming off of a third-place finish, 1 1/4 lengths behind winner Zoomin Effortlessly, in the 400-yard, $350,000 Championship at Sunland Park (G1) in New Mexico on January 3.

Dashin For A Prize drew post 3 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez for trainer Javier Contreras.
