Born Runner Classic Draws 12 Indiana-Breds
Multiple stakes winner Beach Cartel draws rail post Saturday at Indiana Grand.
May 25, 2016
An overflow field of 12 state-bred sprinters, including two also-eligible entries, has been entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $75,000 Born Runner Classic Stakes (R) at Indiana Grand.
Sheri Miller’s Beach Cartel, a homebred gray son of Escondido Beach trained by Randy Smith, will risk his three-race win streak from the rail post. A multiple stakes winner at this track last season, the gelding made his 4-year-old debut with a wire-to-wire, half-length victory in a 400-yard, $20,000 open-condition allowance on April 30.
Rodney Prescott will ride Beach Cartel in the Born Runner Classic.
