Ruben Garcia Montemayor’s Eye N Capo, a son of the Corona Cartel stallion Capo de Capi and the fastest qualifier, drew the rail post for Saturday’s 400-yard, $384,615 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park.

Eye N Capo made his official debut with a 1 1/4-length victory in his Dash For Cash Futurity trial on September 24. The colt was an $8,500 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Damian Martinez will ride Eye N Capo for trainer Adrian Huitron.

Other contenders include Duponte, a multiple graded stakes winning son of champion American Runaway trained by Josue Ponce for owners Bobby D. Cox and Homero and Kristen Ashley Paredes. The homebred colt has earned $581,379 from six starts, and his three wins include the 350-yard, $1.083-million Heritage Place Futurity (G1) at Remington Park on June 4, and the 300-yard, $268,000 Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs in March.

Duponte drew post 8 and will be ridden by Manuel Gutierrez.
