Heza Louisiana Dash, a multiple stakes winning 5-year-old Heza Fast Dash gelding, is one of eight state-bred sprinters entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $50,000 Open Me A Corona Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.

Trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr. for owner T M Ranch, Heza Louisiana Dash will be making his first start since December 10, when he ran second, a neck behind winner Jess Bein The Hero, in the 440-yar, $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Classic Stakes (RG2) at Fair Grounds. The gelding earned $129,526 from seven outs last season, and he won two state-bred stakes during the Evangeline Downs fall meet.

Heza Louisiana Dash drew post 3 and will be ridden by Gilbert Ortiz. The gelding’s seven opponents include Cute Mic Jagger, a one-time claimer who won the 350-yard, $25,000 Mr Jess Perry Stakes (R) at Louisiana Downs on February 25. Miguel Rodriguez trains the 4-year-old Oak Tree Special gelding for owners Benjamin Salazar Jr. and Jesus Talavera.<p>
