Michael A. Pohl's Jess Paint Your Lips, a homebred 4-year-old daughter of champion Jess Louisiana Blue, will make her Los Alamitos Racecourse debut in Saturday's 400-yard, $30,000 First Down Dash Handicap.

Jess Paint Your Lips has earned $74,260 from three outs this season, and she is coming off of a three-quarter length victory as the 3-5 favorite in the 400-yard, $105,000 Boehringer Ingelheim Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) at Prairie Meadows on October 14. The mare currently sports a five-race win streak.

"Mr. Pohl shipped this great mare to me in November; I'm very fortunate to have the opportunity to train her," said Juan Aleman, who will saddle Jess Paint Your Lips in the First Down Dash. "We were hoping to get one race in her at Los Alamitos to get her used to the track and the lights before pointing her to the Grade 1 Charger Bar Handicap in early January.

"She's done well getting used to Los Alamitos," the trainer added. "She's a pretty calm mare and pretty laid back. She'll start from post 3, but I would have liked to have seen her start from an inside or outside post because this is her first start here, but she's shown that she can win from any spot."

Jorge Torres will ride Jess Paint Your Lips, who is the lone distaffer entered in the First Down Dash field.

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey and weight assignments and morning-line odds:
Unclaimed Dividend (Cruz Mendez, 121), 5-1
Chicks Fayvorite (Jesus Rios Ayala, 121), 7-2
Jess Paint Your Lips (Jorge Torres, 124), 9-5
Katies Easy Moves (Cesar DeAlba, 123), 3-1
Viento Negro (Carlos Huerta, 123), 3-1
