Governor's Cup Futurity Trials Draw 59 Juveniles
Ed Burke Million runner-up J Fire Up returns in Saturday's trials at Los Alamitos.

J Fire Up, the runner-up in the June 18, $1-million Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1), is one of 59 2-year-olds entered in Saturday's Governor's Cup Futurity (RG2) trials at Los Alamitos.
The 10 fastest qualifiers from the seven 350-yard heats will meet in the Governor's Cup Futurity final on July 29.
J Fire Up races for Darling Farms, Ernesto Solis, and trainer Jaime Gomez. A homebred daughter of Kiddy Up, the filly has earned $166,625 from three outs.
J Fire Up drew post 9 and will be ridden by Jose Nicasio in the first trial.
Dont Foose With Me, a graded stakes placed son of Foose, is the 9-5 morning-line favorite in the third trial. A homebred gelding campaigned by Spackman Racing and trainer Lin Melton, Dont Foose With Me will be making his first start since May 14, when he ran second, a half of a length behind Fire And Sass, in the 300-yard, $304,000 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity (G3) at Los Alamitos.
Dont Foose With Me drew post 6 and will be ridden by Jesus Ayala.
