Eagle Jazz and Uptown Dynasty, two rivals who finished in a dead heat for the win in the June 11, $800,000 Ruidoso Futurity (G1), are among the 10 2-year-olds entered back in Sunday's 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

The Rainbow Futurity will be telecast live on RIDE-TV, a horse-focused network, beginning at 6 p.m. (EDT). The television coverage will be hosted by veteran horse-racing analyst Tom Dawson.

Eagle Jazz and Uptown Dynasty are the fastest- and second-fastest overall qualifiers, respectively. A homebred son of One Dashing Eagle trained by Judd Kearl for owner Juan A. Medina, Eagle Jazz is coming off of a wire-to-wire, 3 1/4-length victory in the third of 12 trials on July 7, the first day of Rainbow Futurity trials.

Eagle Jazz has won five of six starts and has earned $480,449, with his only loss being a second-place finish, a head behind winner La Vencedora, in the 330-yard, $1.002-million Remington Park Futurity (RG2) for Oklahoma-breds at Remington Park on April 22. The gelding drew post 9 and will be ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo.

Uptown Dynasty races for Melvin Neugebauer of Manzanola, Colorado, who acquired the Mr Jess Perry gelding for $65,000 at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Uptown Dynasty has banked $305,400 from four starts, and he won all three of his outs at Ruidoso Downs this year, including the third of 12 trials on July 8, the second day of Rainbow Futurity trials.

Uptown Dynasty drew the rail post and will be ridden by Cipriano Vidana for trainer Wes Giles. Other contenders include David and Meg Brown's Lena Cartel, a graded stakes placed daughter of Carters Cartel trained by Kearl. Lena Cartel's resume includes a third-place finish, one length behind winner This Is An Eagle, in the 330-yard, $484,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2) at Sam Houston Race Park on April 29.

Ricky Ramirez will ride Lena Cartel from post 5.
