Mavara Vegas Returns in Indiana Grand Classic

The 5-year-old mare makes her season debut on Friday.

A field of seven, headed by defending champion Mavara Vegas, has been entered in Friday's Indiana Grand Classic.

Mavara Vegas, a multiple stakes winner during her 4-year-old campaign, will make her 2017 season debut in Friday’s 400-yard, $40,000 Indiana Grand Classic Stakes at Indiana Grand.

A 5-year-old daughter of champion Fdd Dynasty racing for Alejandro Medina, Mavara Vegas earned $76,592 from eight starts last year, and her resume included a one-length victory in the Indiana Grand Classic, and a head victory at odds of 10-1 in the 400-yard, $45,000 Keokuk Stakes (G3) at Prairie Meadows. The mare drew post 7 and will be ridden by Alejandro Luna for trainer Ricardo Martinez.
