EG High Desert Farms' Jess Ravin, a 4-year-old daughter of Corona Cartel trained by Yanet Rodriguez, is the 4-5 morning-line choice for Saturday's 350-yard, $15,000 Corona Kool Handicap for fillies and mares at Los Alamitos.
Jess Ravin is coming off of a half-length victory as the 3-5 favorite in the 330-yard, $15,000 Flare For Tpby Handicap, a race that was contested on a wet-fast and sealed track at Los Alamitos on February 10. An earner of $120,441 from 13 starts, the mare drew post 7 and will be ridden by Jesus Rios Ayala.
Jess Ravin's seven opponents include Sorelli. A 5-year-old Brookstone Bay mare trained by Roddina Barrett for owners Warlock Stable and Kelly Dougan, Sorelli has banked $57,285 from 20 outs, and her seven wins include a neck victory in last year's 440-yard, $54,000 Bank of America Emerald Downs Challenge in the state of Washington.
Sorelli will be ridden by G. Jairo Rangel from the rail post.
