A pair of unbeaten fillies, Summertime Favorite and Perfect Az Can Be, are among the 10 2-year-olds entered back in Sunday's 300-yard, $303,600 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity (G3) at Los Alamitos.

Campaigned by Thompson Racing Inc. and trainer Paul Jones, Summertime Favorite has won both of her starts by a combined 2 3/4 lengths. The Favorite Cartel filly won the first of seven Kindergarten trials by a neck and posted the fastest qualifying time on April 30.

"She made a few mistakes (in her trial win), but she still got the victory and in a pretty decent time,” Jones said. “She overcame a little bit of trouble. She was able to run in between horses."

A half sister to champion Foose and the 2-1 morning-line second choice, Summertime Favorite drew post 3 and will be ridden by Ramon Sanchez.

Perfect Az Can Be, the second-fastest qualifier, has also won both of her starts. Trained by Kristen Watanabe for owner Omar Placencia, the Arizona-bred daughter of Texas Icon was made the early 8-5 favorite by track morning-line maker Ed Burgart.

Perfect Az Can Be is a full sister to stakes winner Arizona Icon. She drew post 5 and will be ridden by Eddie Garcia.

“She's perfect so far, as her name says," said Watanabe, who began training in 2010 after a decade of working for and assisting 1997 AQHA champion trainer Donna McArthur. "She doesn't do anything wrong. She's a nice filly to be around. She's very personable and loves people. It makes my job a lot easier. She and Eddie make a great team."
