Mt Veeder (TB), a 5-year-old son of Ghostzapper (TB) and one of two Thoroughbreds entered, is the 8-5 morning-line favorite for Friday’s 870-yard, $25,000 Marathon Stakes at SunRay Park.

Trained by Justin Evans for owners Bill and Sue Tomasic, Mt. Veeder has earned $88,200 from three starts this season, and the Kentucky-bred gelding’s two wins include a neck victory in the 6 1/2-furlong, $100,000 Bill Thomas Memorial Stakes at Sunland Park on March 25.

Mt Veeder drew post 7 and will be ridden by Alfredo Juarez Jr.
