Eysa Jess Jumpn, a graded stakes winning daughter of Heza Fast Dash, is one of 109 state-bred 2-year-olds entered in Friday's 350-yard Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) trials at Fair Grounds Racecourse in New Orleans.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Friday's 11 trials will meet in the September 8 final and compete for a stakes-record $429,274 purse. Five of the 109 juveniles entered have been supplemented to the trials for $11,000.

“To have a record purse for the LQHBA Sale Futurity is an incredible accomplishment for our association,” said Louisiana QHBA executive director Tony Patterson.  “As each of the yearlings from the 2017 LQHBA Yearling Sale are eligible to run in this futurity, it shows the commitment of our state’s breeders in sending quality yearlings to Kinder each year. We look forward to the 11 trials and to crowning another Louisiana-bred champion on September 8.”

Trained by Josue Huitron for owner Jose Estrada Quarter Horses, Eysa Jess Jumpn is coming off of a victory in the July 7, $700,000 Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) at Delta Downs. An $11,500 purchase at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale, the filly has earned $372,800.

Eysa jess Jumpn drew post 8 and will be ridden by David Alvarez in the seventh trial.

Guidry Pride II, a colt by Sir Runaway Dash and a $6,500 yearling buy, drew post 4 and will be ridden by Juan F. Garcia Jr. in the 10th heat. Trained by Wendy Garcia for owner Edmundo Juarez, Guidry Pride II has earned $143,510 from three races, and his race record includes a victory in the March 17, $294,292 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.
