Anasttasia Draws Post 7 for $150,565 Iowa Double Gold Futurity

The homebred filly seeks her first stakes victory on Saturday.

Prairie Meadows' Saturday program features a stakes doubleheader, headed by the $150,565 Iowa Double Gold Futurity.

Anasttasia, a homebred daughter of The Louisiana Cartel campaigned by Jorge Haddad, drew post 7 for Saturday’s 350-yard, $150,565 Iowa Double Gold Futurity (R) at Prairie Meadows.

The fastest qualifier, Anasstasia made her Prairie Meadows debut with a convincing 2 1/4-length victory in the first of three Iowa Double Gold Futurity trials on August 18. The filly has earned $19,083 from five starts, and she was a finalist in the July 28, $479,000 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG3) at Retama Park.

Bonifacio Quiroz will ride Anasttasia for trainer Clint Crawford.

Also on Saturday, a full field of 10 3-year-olds has been entered back in the 400-yard, $74,761 Iowa Double Gold Derby (R).
Fastest qualifier CR Lota Girl, a homebred Lota Pyc filly trained by Jason Olmstead for owners Curt Tobin and Dick Tobin, is coming off of a half-length victory in the first of two trials on August 18. CR Lota Girl has earned $8,864 from four outs this year, and her season record includes a fourth-place finish, three lengths behind winner First Of 15, in the 400-yard, $34,000 Gopher State Derby at Canterbury Park on June 9.

CR Lota Girl drew post 3 and will be ridden by Nakia Ramirez.
