JRS Taylors Runnaway, a sorrel son of Sir Runaway Dash owned by Rosalio Espinosa, drew the rail post for Saturday's 350-yard, $25,000 Billy Montgomery Stakes (R) for state-bred sophomores at Louisiana Downs.

The 3-2 morning-line favorite, JRS Taylors Runnaway will be shortening in distance off of his third-place finish, one length behind winner You Drive I Fly, in the 400-yard, $1-million Louisiana Million Futurity (RG1) at Evangeline Downs on December 16. All told, the gelding has won four of seven starts, all in Louisiana, and he has banked $246,589.

Floriberto Maldonado will ride JRS Taylors Runnaway for trainer Martin Trejo.

"He worked Monday morning, and he looks good," said Trejo of JRS Taylors Runnaway. "I'm not worried about the inside post. He broke his maiden from post 2, and he's always been pretty smart in the gates."

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:
JRS Taylors Runnaway (Floriberto Maldonado), 3-2
JRS Natural Runaway (Randy Edison), 12-1
Stormy T (Ubaldo Luna), 6-1
Jess Toastem (Luciano Duenez), 10-1
Fastdashing Lassie (David Alvarez), 12-1
