Blue Corazon and Suze Returns, the winner and runner-up, respectively, of the Ruidoso Futurity (G1), are among the 276 2-year-olds entered in this weekend's Rainbow Futurity (G1) trials at Ruidoso Downs.

Fourteen 400-yard trials will be contested on Friday and Saturday. The top five qualifiers each day will advance to the July 22, $1-million Rainbow Futurity final. First post time for each day of trials is set for 12 p.m. (MDT).

A gray son of Coronado Cartel trained by Blane Wood for owner Newman Cattle Co., Blue Corazon has won both of his starts and has earned $424,800, and his race record includes a half-length victory in the June 10, 350-yard Ruidoso Futurity (G1).

"He's doing really good," said jockey Ricky Ramirez of Blue Corazon. “He pulled up good and is eating good. I took him to the gate and he was perfect. I think he is still peaking and he is only going to get better.”

Ramirez will ride Blue Corazon from post 9 in the 11th trial on Saturday.

Suze Returns, a $30,000 supplemental nominee to the Rainbow trials, has banked $316,818 from four races, and her three wins include a neck victory as the fastest qualifier in the April 14, 300-yard West Texas Futurity (G2) at Sunland Park. The sorrel daughter of High Rate Of Returns drew post 3 and will be ridden by Jaime Leos for owner Joe Rios and trainer Juan Carlos Gonzalez in Saturday's eighth heat.

Eduardo Mendoza's EM Bodacious Chick, a stakes-winning daughter of Bodacious Dash, tops Friday's trials. Trained by Cynthia Gonzalez, the filly broke her maiden with a nose victory at odds of 20-1 in the 350-yard, $100,000 Ruidoso Juvenile Stakes on June 10.

Jaime Leos will ride EM Bodacious Chick from post 6 in Friday's seventh trial.
