Jess Move You and champion Eagle Jazz are among the 70 3-year-olds entered in Sunday's 440-yard Rainbow Derby (G1) trials at Ruidoso Downs.

Jess Move You is a gelded son of Apollitical Jess trained by Rodoflo "Rudy" Valles for owners Ricardo A. Bernal and Reymundo Resendez, and he will be stretching out in distance off of his three-quarter length victory in the June 9, 400-yard Ruidoso Derby (G1).

"He came out of the Ruidoso Derby great," said Valles of Jess Move You. "He's feeling good, eating well, and happy. We took him out to the track, and he went like a million bucks."

Agustin Silva will ride Jess Move You from post 7 in the sixth of nine trials.

"I like the 7 hole, but I don't know how the race will go," Valles said. "I hope Mother Nature is good to us."

Eagle Jazz is trained by Wes Giles for owner Juan A. Medina, who also bred the One Dashing Eagle gelding. Eagle Jazz won two Grade 1 stakes at Ruidoso last year, including the 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1), and he was the 2017 champion 2-year-old gelding.

Eagle Jazz drew post 2 and will be ridden by Agustin Silva in the first heat.

Giles will also send out Uptown Dynasty, the 8-5 morning-line favorite in the seventh trial. A Grade 1-winning bay son of champion Mr Jess Perry owned by Melvin Neugebauer of Manzanola, Colorado, Uptown Dynasty has earned $673,336 from nine starts, eight of which have been at Ruidoso Downs, and he qualified to all of the track's Grade 1 futurities last year.

G.R. Carter Jr. will ride Uptown Dynasty from post 4.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 21 Rainbow Derby final.
