Bill Hoburg's BH Lisas Boy is the 5-2 morning-line favorite for Sunday's 400-yard, $170,500 Vessels Maturity (G1) at Los Alamitos.

A 6-year-old homebred son of Mighty Invictus, BH Lisas Boy is coming off of a head victory in the last of three trials on June 17. That start marked his first in nearly three months.

“I was concerned with the layoff that long,” said Hoburg, who also trains BH Lisas Boy. “He doesn’t have the best knees in the world, (and) I didn’t want to get too many works under him for free.

"We had two light works under him (going into the Vessels trials), and I was hoping that was enough," he added. "It was a little nerve wracking, but it worked out alright.”

BH Lisas Boy, the winner of last year's Vessels Maturity, drew post 6 and will be ridden by Cesar DeAlba.

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:
Billionaire Boy (Carlos Huerta), 30-1
Jess Hawk (Rodolfo Arvizu), 5-1
Rite Regal (Cruz Mendez), 15-1
Tarzanito (Eddie S. Garcia), 3-1
Flash N Bling (Oscar Peinado), 10-1
BH Lisas Boy (Cesar DeAlba), 5-2
Zoomin For Spuds (Jesus Rios Ayala), 5-1
Katies Easy Moves (Eduardo Nicasio), 6-1
Branquino (Rodrigo Aceves), 20-1
Seared (Eulices Gomez), 15-1
