The 300-yard, $310,466 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) for state-bred 2-year-olds is one of three stakes scheduled for Saturday's eight-race program at Louisiana Downs.

Post time for the first race is set for 1 p.m. (CDT).

Quick To Flirt, the fastest qualifier and 5-2 morning-line favorite, drew post 9 and will be ridden by Randy Edison in the Mardi Gras Futurity. A bay son of Quick To Flare Up trained by Jesus Garrido for Ricardo Castillo's Triple C Racing Stables LLC, the gelding made his career debut with a one-length victory in the fourth of 13 trials on February 24.

Castillo and Garrido saw Quick To Flirt's potential when they made a trip to Herbert Quarter Horses in Welsh, Louisiana.

“Jesus and I saw a yearling on the ranch running to catch other horses,” said Castillo. “It was Quick to Flirt, and we bought him that day. Since coming to our farm in Vinton, it was the same; he runs fast out there in the pasture. He wants to be on the lead and lives up to that on the racetrack.”

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:
Igottarampage (Guadalupe Lucio Jr.), 6-1
Flamin Hot Fortune (Damian Martinez), 20-1

Mardi Gras Derby
Also on Saturday, a full field of 10 Louisiana-bred 3-year-olds has been entered in the 400-yard, $87,506 Mardi Gras Derby (R).

JRS Taylors Runnaway, the 5-2 morning-line choice, is coming off of a second-place finish, a neck behind fastest qualifier The Cazador, in the second of four Mardi Gras Derby trials on February 25. A gelded son of Sir Runaway Dash trained by Martin Trejo for owner Rosalio Espinosa, JRS Taylors Runaway has earned $252,989 from nine races, all in Louisiana, and his four wins include a head victory in last year's 350-yard, $297,000 LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Fair Grounds Racecourse in New Orleans.

JRS Taylors Runnaway drew post 9 and will be ridden by Jorge Linares.

The Cazador drew post 8 and will be ridden by John Hamilton for owner Rayne Knight and trainer Mike Zingelmann. The sorrel son of Sir Runaway Dash has won two of five starts and has earned $13,305.

"He ran a great trial, and I'm hoping this win builds his confidence," said Zingelmann. "There were three horses within a neck of each other, so whoever gets away the best can win the final."

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:

TF El Whiskey (Juan D. Marquez), 6-1
Gunna Be Alright (David Alvarez), 10-1

Streakin La Jolla Stakes
Tate Farms' TF Racee Runaway, a 4-year-old Sir Runaway Dash gelding trained by Lanny Keith, is the 5-2 morning-line favorite in this 400-yard, $15,000 stakes for 3-year-olds and older.

TF Racee Runaway will be stretching out in distance off of his third-place finish, a neck behind winner Gone Cartel, in the 350-yard, $25,000 Mr Jess Perry Stakes (RG3) for Louisiana-breds on February 24. The gelding drew post 9 and will be ridden by Everardo Rodriguez.
