Daddys Copy is Morning-Line Favorite for New Mexico Breeders' Stakes

The homebred filly heads a field of 10 state-bred runners in Friday's SunRay Park feature.

State-bred 3-year-olds will be featured in Friday's New Mexico Breeders' Stakes.

MJ Farms’ Daddys Copy, a homebred daughter of Big Daddy Cartel, is one of 10 state-bred sophomores entered in Friday’s 400-yard, $40,000 New Mexico Breeders’ Stakes (R) at SunRay Park.

Trained by Wes Giles, Daddys Copy is coming off of a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Everybuddys Talkin, in the 350-yard, $85,000 Sunburst Stakes (RG3) for New Mexico-bred 3-year-old fillies at Sunland Park on March 31. The filly has earned $64,601 from eight outs, all in New Mexico.

Daddys Copy is the 5-2 morning-line choice. The filly drew the rail post and will be ridden by Jesus Salazar.

Other contenders include multiple graded stakes winner A Passion For Flashn, a son of champion First Moonflash trained by Martin Orona Sr. for owner RC Racing LLC. A Passion For Flashn is coming off of a Sunland Park campaign during which the colt scored a one-length victory in the 400-yard, $85,000 New Mexico Horse Breeders’ Association Stakes (RG2) on February 18.

A Passion For Flashn drew post 3 and will be ridden by Federico Martinez.
