AQHA
Exhibitor Horse

Explanation of eligibility data displayed in chart below:

  • See AQHA Rule SHW245 in the AQHA Official Handbook of Rules and Regulations for detailed information regarding Level 1 eligibility.
  • Alliance Column - indicates if an exhibitor has earned winnings in excess of $5,000 or certain awards/titles (collectively referred to as 'Achievements'; see AQHA Rule SHW245) in another equine association or organization that result in the exhibitor's ineligibility to show in Rookie and Level 1 classes in which such Achievements were earned.

o   It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to provide accurate and up-to-date information to AQHA for purposes of eligibility verification.

o   'Y' in the Alliance column indicates the exhibitor is INELIGIBLE to show in Rookie and Level 1 classes for which the exhibitor has earned certain Achievements with another equine association.

o   'N' in the Alliance column indicates AQHA has not been notified that the exhibitor has earned Achievements with other equine associations and organizations (NOTE: If an exhibitor has earned Achievements which make the exhibitor ineligible to show in certain Rookie and Level 1 classes, such exhibitor is ineligible even if such Achievements have not yet been reported to or recorded by AQHA.)

  • Rookie, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 Columns - this indicates if an exhibitor is eligible to show in the particular class based on AQHA points and achievements. (Please keep in mind the horse must also be Rookie eligible.)

o   'Y' indicates the exhibitor IS ELIGIBLE to show in that particular class.

o   'N' indicates the exhibitor IS NOT ELIGIBLE to show in that particular class.

o   'X' indicates that particular class is not leveled - either because there is not enough data (contestant showing in that class) to level the class; or because you are looking at an exhibitor's record and that particular class is leveled based on the horse's record.

     *  Open halter and cattle classes are leveled based on the exhibitor's record; all other open classes are leveled based on the horse's record.

     *  All Youth and Amateur Classes are leveled based on the exhibitor's record.

Note regarding Open Superior Achievements: If you are an amateur or youth exhibitor and have been noted ineligible in a particular Level 1 class due to an Open Superior achievement on your record, but you are not the exhibitor who earned the necessary 50 points for that achievement, please contact the AQHA Competition Operations Department to verify eligibility and adjustments can be made if necessary.

It is best to update your Level 1 Application at the beginning of each year to ensure that year's eligibility is correct for the entire year.
