Millie Corder, left, is amateur champion of champions and reserve amateur champion of champions at the 2017 Nutrena East AQHA Level 1 Championships.

The Nutrena East AQHA Level 1 Championships are May 2-6 at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio.

Exhibitors at the Nutrena East AQHA Level 1 Championships saddled up their American Quarter Horses on May 2 for the opening day of competition at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio. The show kicked off at 8 a.m. with B&W Rookie youth ranch riding in the R+L Arena.

The Nutrena East, running May 2-6, features Rookie classes, sponsored by B&W Trailer Hitches, and Level 1 classes; these two levels of AQHA competition are designed for everyone from the beginner to the minimally accomplished competitors in AQHA events, respectively.

AQHA walk-trot classes are debuting at three 2018 Level 1 Championships this spring. Walk-trot classes are the perfect way for eligible exhibitors to get in the arena and gain experience, which goes hand-in-hand with the purpose of the Level 1 Championships.

The Nutrena East offers a variety of events and activities for competitors, friends, family and spectators to take part in throughout the show, including free Ride the Pattern clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen and an educational seminar on nutrition and horsemanship skills.
