The second payment to nominate halter horses for the halter nomination pilot program for the Adequan® Select World is May 31.
May 27, 2018
The American Quarter Horse Association
New this year, the American Quarter Horse Association is offering a third way for amateur, Select and open exhibitors to qualify their halter horses for AQHA world championship shows*.
The three qualifying methods include:
- Qualify by earning the required number of points.
- Compete at a designated number of shows during the respective qualifying period (10 for Select and amateur or 20 for open).
- Participate in the new nomination pilot program for halter horses.
The second nomination payment for the AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), is due May 31, 2018.
Nomination forms and payments can be made online or by mail; both forms can be found under Competitor Resources at www.aqha.com/worldshow.
Adequan® Select World Payment 2
The second payment for the Adequan® Select World halter nomination pilot program is $2,000. If the first payment was not paid by December 31, 2017, then the previous payment of $1,000, plus a $500 late fee, is due in addition to the amount of Payment 2. The total payment, if the first payment was not made by the deadline, is $3,500 ($1,000 Payment 1 + $500 late fee for Payment 1 + $2,000 Payment 2).
Payment 3 for the Adequan® Select World is due August 1. View the Select amateur halter nomination payment schedule.
The nomination payments will be added to their respective class purses, and all entries in that class at the 2018 Adequan® Select World will be eligible to receive the full purse, regardless of the qualifying method.
The program is patterned off of a futurity payment structure, and the cost of the nominations is dependent upon division. The total amateur/Select payment is $5,000, if all payments are made on time.
Please contact Lori Peterson at 806-378-4344 if you have questions or would like to nominate your halter horse over the phone.
As a reminder, Payment 2 for the Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show is due July 31.
